Designing with Children in Mind

12.08.26

Childhood is a fleeting moment in a lifetime, yet it is filled with memories that stay with us: favourite objects, places to hide, moments of play, imagination and adventure.

The spaces we grow up in become part of who we are. Years later, they return to us in unexpected ways - a particular corner, a familiar light, a room where something important happened.

When we design a home, we work with parents to create spaces that welcome these moments. Places where children can play, explore, imagine and grow, while still feeling connected to the wider life of the home.

For us, sustainability also means designing for change. A sustainable home should be able to adapt as its occupants' lives evolve - from the early years of childhood through to adulthood and beyond.

A home for a lifetime, however long that lifetime may be.
