Dune Housing is an architectural research project to investigate ways in which human beings can co-habitate with nature in a dune ecology. It speculates upon possible future development of the West Whins site in the Findhorn Community, Scotland. The design strategy optimises the vitality of the land first, supporting native plant and animal species, before proposing where and how human habitation could be carefully implemented. It also explores models of co-housing, proposing a range of scales over which indoor and outdoor spaces can be shared by more than one household.
